The Business Networking Show 2014

Last Friday I spent the day at Wolverhampton Racecourse with over 500 switched on networkers... all people who realised the impact networking can have on their businesss... and on their bottom line!!

There were some great keynote speakers like Brad Burton from 4N (he really does like me it's not a trick of photoshop!), dragon lady herself Rachel Elnaugh, Apprentice Neil Clough, Marketing guru Dee Blick, the wisdom queen Debbie Huxton and Mr Network Dummy himself Stafan Thomas.

If you would like to see what people had to say about the event head over to Twitter and search for @TBNShow or #TBNS2014 - keep an eye out for news of next year!! Also make sure you are following them: @BradBurton @RachelElnaugh @NeilWClough @deeblick @debbie huxton @noredbraces

I have over 20 enquiries from attendees at the show to start groups 'up north' so hopefully you will be part of a much bigger network by the new year.

Everyone loves the idea behind First Friday and I hope that many more groups start and people join our happy little network... you can help by inviting one guest along to a meeting with you... why not try it this week!

Golfers go crazy at Chichester First Friday

After our most recent Chichester First Friday breakfast networking event at Chichester Golf Club, Hunston, seven gung-ho golfers tackled the 18 hilarious holes at the newly opened Jungle Paradise Adventure Golf course, complete with the sights and sounds of the wild (the jungle wild not the host Pete Wild of course!).

The crazy Madagascar themed course winds its way around rocks, past wild animals, through dark caverns, under a crashed aircraft and waterfall and even includes crossing the water by pulley raft. There was a single hole in one by Steve Wilson (Chichester Print) and no less than three networkers (Paul Gibson, Steve Lyon and Steve Wilson) shared the same top score of 48 shots and were rewarded in chocolate for their efforts.

A great mornings entertainment and networking - join us next time!

The E-Myth Revisited - A business book not to be missed

I highly recommend you get a copy of this book of you're serious about your business!

The E-Myth Revisited: Why Most Small Businesses Don't Work and What to Do About It
Michael E. Gerber

E-Myth:
1: the entrepreneurial myth: the myth that most people who start small businesses are entrepreneurs
2: the fatal assumption that an individual who understands the technical work of a business can successfully run a business that does that technical work

Voted #1 business book by Inc. 500 CEOs.

An instant classic, this revised and updated edition of the phenomenal bestseller dispels the myths about starting your own business. Small business consultant and author Michael E. Gerber, with sharp insight gained from years of experience, points out how common assumptions, expectations, and even technical expertise can get in the way of running a successful business.

Gerber walks you through the steps in the life of a business—from entrepreneurial infancy through adolescent growing pains to the mature entrepreneurial perspective: the guiding light of all businesses that succeed—and shows how to apply the lessons of franchising to any business, whether or not it is a franchise. Most importantly, Gerber draws the vital, often overlooked distinction between working on your business and working in your business.

The E-Myth Revisited will help you grow your business in a productive, assured way.
